Idea Development

Idea Development
At the beginning of the project I had the idea that for all of my photos I would be just following one persons life in their Christian faith, for this I took plenty of photos of Alice in her day to day life and her Christian faith. After my first shoot of going to her house and taking photos of her at home and then following her to town and taking photos of her in town, I put all the photos onto the computer and edited and saved the ones I liked. However since then we have had critics in lessons and i have had more ideas of what I want to do and develop from my initial ideas. One of my new ideas follow a similar focus but a very different theme and composition, the other ideas follow a slightly similar theme to my original idea.

One of my new ideas is to take portrait photos of people in the studio and in their day to day life but with words written on all the skin that is showing, these words will be how God sees them but the words wont be acknowledged by the people them selves. I will take photos of Christians and Non-Christians, the Christians will have words written on them in black saying things like;
Fearfully and Wonderfully made
Saved
Free
Loved
Adored
Accepted
Unique
Child
Son/Daughter
Prince/Princess
Light
Encourager
Beautiful/Handsome
Testimony
Precious
Blessed
Secure
Pure
Provided
World Changer

The Non-Christians would have words written on them in Red showing that they stand out as people God wishes to save. The words would be things like;
Fearfully and Wonderfully made
Lost
Lonely
Insecure
Loved
Adored
Unique
Child
Son/Daughter
Prince/Princess
Blind
Beautiful/Handsome
Precious
Insecure
Impure

Another idea that was suggested to me was to continue to take photos of Alice but to get her into the same position she is in on this photo

and then take photos of her in this position in different places and situations flipping the photo upside down afterwards so that she looks like this and all the world is upside down, I have decided to follow this series of photos with a Bible verse as its theme. The Bible verse is from Exodus 14:14 "The LORD will fight for you, you need only to be still." I like this Bible verse as it can link to the photo really well as she is still, in the same position in all of the photos. Also from this verse I thought it would be a good idea to use fast and slow shutter speeds so in some photos I can have the world moving around her.

Here is a photo that Robert Frank took which I have responded to through my photos of Alice.

Although this photo is blurry, it is a photo of the crucifix. I have responded to this photo my taking photos of Alice in a Crucifix position.
