STATEMENT OF INTENT
For my final piece I want to do a response to two photographers, Angelo Merendino who documented his wife's struggle with cancer and her day to day life and I also want to respond to Robert Frank who photographed outcasts. My idea is to document my friend Alice's life as a Christian as people who are Christians are seen as outcasts which links in with Robert Frank and to follow a single person and their life is what Angelo Merendino has done. Both Photographers have made their images black and white and they both tell stories and that is what I hope to do in my work.
I would like to show the life of a Christian and the fact that it is normal, Christians aren't a different race of people they are ordinary human beings with an extraordinary faith. I want to capture the image of God in the photos by photoshopping into the images something that represents God, whether its just eyes or a whole body or just facial features I want to show that God is always with her, wherever she goes watching over her and helping her.
In my head I have planned out some of the natural shots I want to capture, I wish for them to be natural because I don't want my photos to be staged as I think that contradicts the idea of documentary photography. I have an idea of getting a photo of Alice in her bedroom reading her bible, I would have her placed to the left hand side of the frame and in the right hand side somewhere in a corner or hidden I would have the representation of God there watching over her. Another photo I wish to take is one of her on the bus where she is sat close to the isle near the front of the bus and I will take the photo from a low angle and photoshop the representation of God into a chair near the back of the bus showing that God is with her on the bus and wherever she goes God is with her. Another photo I hope to capture is one of her expressing her love for God through singing and dancing during worship at Destiny Nottingham.
In order to get my representation of God into photos I need to shoot them in the studio and then edit them on photoshop so that I can photoshop the images straight into my actual photographs.

INITIAL PHOTOS
First Shoot
On Tuesday I followed Alice for the day, getting photos of her everywhere she went. Overall I took around 500 photos of her, I have picked out the photos that I thought came out best and some of these photos I will choose to develop further by editing and cropping them on photoshop and then by photoshopping into the photo the representation of God.
